About Us
The Readiness Collaborative was founded by Brian K. Cockman, MPA, MPH, a strategic growth and communications leader with more than two decades of experience across federal government, nonprofit systems, and public-sector consulting.
Federal Experience
His work includes supporting national programs and campaigns at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the National Institutes of Health, leading communications and strategy efforts in public health, and building cross-sector partnerships that connect nonprofits, consulting firms, and funders.
Community & Nonprofit Work
At the local and state level, Brian has worked closely with nonprofit organizations, elected officials, and community partners, with a deep understanding of how to translate real-world needs into fundable, competitive solutions. He brings strong relationships across North Carolina’s nonprofit sector and experience designing partnerships that are credible to both funders and government stakeholders.
The Readiness Collaborative was created to bring these experiences together, and to help organizations not only pursue funding, but structure the strategy, partnerships, and delivery needed to succeed.
Why “Collaborative”
The name reflects how the work gets done. Public-sector work requires alignment across nonprofits, consulting firms, funders, and government partners. The Readiness Collaborative brings those pieces together by designing partnerships and solutions that are intentional, credible, and built to deliver.
Our Approach
The approach is simple: design work that can win, build partnerships that matter, and ensure it can be delivered.
